Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today met the first batch of Haj pilgrims and asked them to pray for peace in the country as well as the state during their religious visit. “I am very elated that I am amongst you on this happy occasion,” Mr Yadav said while showing green signal to first batch of the pilgrims from the state. The worshippers should pray for peace in the nation as well as for the state, he added. The CM further said that his government was committed to provide best facilities to the Haj pilgrims and patted the backs of UP Urban Development and Haj minister Mohammad Azam Khan. Two batches of 300 worshippers each left for the pilgrimage from Amausi airport in the state capital today. UNI
