Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday finalised a site in Mucherla of Ranga Reddy district for the establishment of Hyderabad Pharma City.
The proposed Pharma City will come up on nearly 11,000 acres of land. The decision was taken after the Chief Minister, along with senior officials and representatives of Pharma companies conducted an aerial survey of a few possible locations in Ranga Reddy district. Later, he pointed out that Mucherla would be the best location for the proposed Pharma City. One Pharma University, research institution, township for the employees will also be established in the proposed Pharma City, which would be designed and built as per international standards.
The Chief Minister said that the Pharma City should be completely eco-friendly and ‘zero liquid discharge policy’ should be adopted for the same. He hoped that the Pharma City would attract investments of nearly Rs 30,000 crore while providing employment to about 70,000 people.
