CM: Expedite processing of applications

Hyderabad, February 04: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked the officials to expedite the processing of applications received from the people during Rachabanda on a war footing. He wanted the officers to ensure that no eligible person should be denied benefits of the government schemes.

He said the programme is aimed at helping the poor and the needy who did not get any benefits from welfare schemes despite their eligibility.

The chief minister today participated in the Rachabanda programme at Supriyenpet in West Godavari district and Madaka village of Pedana mandal in Krishna district.

He addressed public meetings and distributed assets at Chintalapudi junior college grounds and at agricultural market committee grounds in Pedana. On the ninth day, the Rachabanda programme was held at 1,566 places including 616 and 285 places in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.

But the programme was interrupted in Telangana districts.

The programme was conducted at 14,524 places in the state till date.

People participated in the programme and brought the problems faced by them to the notice of the authorities in availing the benefits of various welfare schemes.

The programme is expected to provide benefits to 1.25 crore people.

Minister for Information and Public Relations D K Aruna said that all the 1,565 Rachabanda meetings planned in the state today were held successfully except 87 in Telangana. As many as 616 meetings were held in Andhra, 578 in Telangana and 284 in Rayalaseema, she said.
