They considered various options to minimize the financial burden on student, but political compulsions made CM to keep his decision in abeyance. Another meeting will be held on Saturday,to discuss the same issue and to take a final decision on the fee hike issue.
CM said that he is in favour of waiting till July 24 when the case is expected to come up for hearing in the Supreme court.
CM is worried about the student who is depends on the fee reimbursement scheme.
In the existing system of common fee for all college is Rs.31,000 whereas in the new fee structure prescribed by AFRC it varies from Rs.35,000 to Rs.90,000 from college to college.
Under this proposal, the government will reimburse only Rs.35,000.The rest of it has to be borne by the students.
