CM directs officials to study Dharmana Committee’s report

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has reportedly asked the administration and departments concerned to study the important recommendations of “Dharmana Committee Report” and come back with specific and practical solutions for implementation at the earliest.

It may be recalled that Ministers Committee headed by Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao submitted its report to the Chief Minister and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday. According to informed sources, reviewing the recommendations pertaining to the government at the State Secretariat here on Thursday, the Chief Minister directed the Advocate General to speed up the cases relating to Local Body elections particularly the Panchayat elections.

The sources also said that the Chief Minister asked that Universal Health Scheme should be worked out immediately to extend the quality healthcare at free of cost to entire population on the lines of “Rajiv Aarogya Sree” scheme. He reportedly said that a good study should be made to improve the delivery mechanism of the Social Security Pensions and ensure the receipt of the pensions on a fixed date to the beneficiaries.

The sources also said that the Chief Minister asked the officials of Backward Classes Welfare department to work out specific welfare schemes for weavers, shepherds, washermen, Nayee Brahmins, Toddy tappers and others and to implement them in a big way. It is also known that a Special programmes for Women and Child welfare – “Pasupu Kumkuma” scheme to provide assistance for marriages of poor families, Girl Child Education etc would be worked out.

Kiran Kiran Reddy also asked the officials to chalk out new schemes for SC, ST and Minorities. Youth Welfare programmes including “Rajiv Yuva Kiranaalu” would be strengthened, the sources informed. He has also asked the Officials to address the High Court requesting for SC, ST designated Court at Srikakulam to deal with the “Lakshmipet Case” on a daily basis or to establish Special Court exclusively for this purpose, the sources added.
