Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed the officials to take all precautionary measures to prevent any loss of life and property in view of the heavy rains in city and different parts of the State. An official release here said, the Chief Minister directed GHMC Commissioner, District Collectors, Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy, Commissioner, Disaster Management and top officials of Health, R&B over phone to constantly monitor the situation in the areas which were lashed by heavy rains, particularly the low lying areas.
The Chief Minister also visited low lying areas like Nagamiahkunta and areas near the Text Book Press, Khairatabad in the city in the morning and enquired about the problems of the people due to heavy rains. He also interacted with the local people and directed the officials concerned to take remedial measures to solve the problems of the people, the release said. The Chief Minister has asked the Health, Panchayat Raj and R&B officials to be on high alert and constantly monitor all vulnerable roads and culverts.
He asked them to take up immediate repairs of minor breaches and ensure that there are no hardships to the public. UNI
