Visakhapatnam, January 12 (INN): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday cancelled his visit to Araku valley due to unfavourable weather conditions.
As per schedule, the Chief Minister left for Visakhapatnam by a special flight to participate in the tribal programmes and conclusion of three-day training programme for first time MLAs along with Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
However, after reaching the Visakhapatnam, the ATC officials said that the weather was not favourable for visiting the Araku valley by helicopter. After three trials, the weather officials advised the Chief Minister to cancel his visit.
Following the advice, the Chief Minister cancelled the visit after waiting anxiously for two hours at the airport. However, he said that he would visit Araku valley soon to know their problems and actual conditions in agency areas.
As per original schedule, the Chief Minister was to participate in programmes arranged by the locals at Kothavalasa and offer condolences to Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju who lost his mother recently. (INN)
