Hyderabad, July 14: Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday will leave for New Delhi to attend a meeting called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the security situation and development works in the Naxal-affected states.
This meeting will be attended by Chief Ministers of all the states hit by Maoist activities and will take place on Wednesday.
According to informed sources, Mr Rosaiah will meet Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and In-Charge of Party Affairs for Andhra Pradesh Veerappa Moily.
The Chief Minister is expected to brief the Central Congress leaders of the ongoing Odarpu Yatra. Mr Rosaiah is also likely file a detailed report on the situation in the Congress party especially after the defying of the party’s wish by YSR district (formerly Kadapa) MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and taking out the Odarpu Yatra.
Mr Rosaiah will also explain the reason behind some party MLAs defying his personal diktat and aligning with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy by sending their family members on the Yatra in their stead, when told not to attend it personally.
According to informed sources, Mr Rosaiah will express his opinion that it would be better if no disciplinary action is taken against the MP for the time being.
Given the current political situation in the state and the forthcoming by-elections, Mr Rosaiah’s advice would be most likely accepted.
