Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated in Yoga Day at Convention centre here today on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Addressing the participants, Naidu said, “Yoga is part of life and our natural and hereditary wealth. Many countries organising Yoga Day celebrations is a good sign. In the past, Swami Vivekananda propagated the importance of Yoga and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been promoting Yoga across the world,” Naidu said, adding that the credit for International Yoga Day celebration goes to Prime Minister on whose request United Nations is organizing June 21 as International Yoga Day.
“Yoga is not confined to any particular religion or country. Yoga is a science and it helps in staying healthy and promotes positive energy. The nation has launched a new era today,” the CM said. “When I was Chief Minister in 1994, I organised Yoga sessions for ministers and officials. Recently, three-day yoga sessions in association with Isha Foundation were organised. This has helped in maintaining discipline and improved concentration levels,” Naidu added. Concluding the event, the Chief Minister conducted an oath about the role and responsibility of an individual towards the society. Later, he released “Vijetha Chandrababu” book on the occasion.
