CM asks officials to get power from centre

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has reviewed the power situation in the State with Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew and instructed her to take suitable steps to overcome the present crisis.

In the review meeting held in the Secretariat, apart from the Chief Secretary, officials of the CMO and other concerned departments participated in the meeting. Officials have explained to the Chief Minister that they were taking steps to overcome the power crisis. They have explained that there was shortage of 34 MU shortage per day at present. They said that they were imposing cuts on other sectors so as to provide seven-hour supply to the agriculture sector.

They also said that of the 9,295 agriculture feeders, there was problem in only 13 feeders in the supply of seven-hour power supply to agriculture. Officials have also informed the Chief Minister about satisfactory inflows to different reservoirs in the State. They have also kept him posted of the power consumption, and supply of power from different sources.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to take steps to get additional power from the Centre. (NSS)
