CM asks HMDA to develop greenery around ORR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday instructed Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy to go for massive greenery improvement program in a targeted manner.

Holding a review meeting in Pragathi Bhavan on developing greenery in and around HMDA area, the Chief Minister said that Hyderabad shall not become a concrete jungle like some of the Indian cities and the people live here shall be benefited with massive plantation program so that for generations to come they feel happy. He also said enough of lung space as much as possible shall be created in the HMDA area.

The Chief Minister also asked the HMDA Commissioner to form walkers clubs and hand them over to walkers for maintenance for sustenance. He also stressed the need to rejuvenate the erstwhile forest like scene from Hyderabad to Medak and to other places. He wants an integrated approach in collaboration with Forest department to be evolved for developing greenery, including the areas around Outer Ring road. The CM suggested to the HMDA authorities to come out with a plan of action for developing greenery in HMDA area.
