CM appeals to maintain peace

Hyderabad, September 29 (Siasat News): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today appealed to all communities, rather to the people of entire nation to maintain peace and communal harmony after Allahabad High Court’s verdict on Babri Masjid title suit.

He said all steps were taken by the state government to maintain peace. He was talking to media persons following a meet with the police officials held for monitoring security arrangements.

When asked that since the Karnataka government had declared holiday for educational institutions on Thursday, would state government also declare a holiday? Rosaiah ruled out this even to educational institutions.

“On one hand we are appealing to the people to observe restraint and if we declare a holiday, it will send wrong signal,” he said.

State Home Minister P Sabita Reddy, Health Minister D Nagender and Information Technology and sports Minister K Venkata Reddy were also present at the briefing. The ministers too appealed to maintain peace and harmony.
