CM apologises to EC for ’10 votes’ remarks

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday submitted his explanation to the Election Commission of India on the charges of violating Model Code of Conduct during his election speeches.

In his explanation note, Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that he has not intentionally asked the electorate to cast 10 votes each in his election speeches and asked them to mobilise people to cast their votes. Based on the government’s welfare schemes, he asked the voters to exercise their franchise judiciously and asked them to mobilize electorate to cast votes. He admitted that the word ’10 votes’ came out mistakenly in his election speech and tender apology to the commission for the same.

The Chief Minister said that he described BJP as a communal outfit in his election speech and did not make any communal remarks that violating the election code. (INN)
