CM Announces Rs 25 lakh each to Everesters

Telangana government today announced reward of Rs 25 lakh each to two teenagers — Poorna Malavath and Anand Kumar — who established a record by climbing Mount Everent.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao announced the reward for the duo. He also announced reward of Rs 25 lakh to Shekhar Babu of Nalgonda district, who imparted training to them. Poorna Malavath and Anand Kumar, two teenagers recently climbed Mount Everest.
“The Prime Minister also congratulated the young achievers and remarked they had achieved a feat at a tender age,” he added.
Malavath, a school student of Nizamabad in Telangana State became the youngest female in the world to reach the world’s highest peak on May 25, 2014, at the age of 13 years and 11 months. Anand Kumar reached the summit the same day. He studies in the Social Welfare School in Khammam in Telangana. (NSS)
