Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed concern over the destruction of Waqf properties and announced to constitute two House Committees to conduct probe into irregularities in Waqf properties and Jubilee Hills and Film Nagar Housing Societies. Following a debate held through Call Attention Motion under Rule 74 in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday the Chief Minister said that Telangana government was worried that Waqf properties worth crores of rupees had been destroyed. TRS had promised protection of Waqf properties in the manifesto hence the government will not only protect Waqf properties but will respect Mansha-e-Waqf, he said. He told that government was mulling over collecting compensation from the companies and institutions to whom Waqf properties had been handed over.
