CM angry over MWD, boycotts Minority Welfare Day celebration

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is angry over the performance of Minority Welfare Department. He expressed his anger by not attending the ‘Minority Welfare Day’ celebrations on November 11.
Minority Welfare Day is celebrated annually on the occasion of birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. This year Minority Welfare Department had planned Minority School Society programme at Lal Bahadur Stadium. Chief Minister who had promised to attend the programme changed his mind at 11th hour and did not to attend the programme, as mark of resentment.
Sources close to CM revealed that KCR was not satisfied with the overall performance of the department. It is said that 30 to 40 lakh rupees were unnecessarily spent from Minority School Society budget for the programme while Rs. 5 lakh was spent for fire crackers alone; which was unwarranted for a minority institution nor it had any relevance with the birth anniversary of Maulana Azad.
