Kanpur : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday hit out at the BJP following reports that Governor Ram Naik has sent a “special report” to President Pranab Mukherjee on the alleged exodus from Kairana and said the saffron party is raising such issues only because they have failed to fulfil the promises made to the nation.
Talking to the media here, Yadav said even the Samajwadi Party Government in Uttar Pradesh had earlier submitted a report on Kairana exodus.
“The people in the BJP are raising these questions only because they have failed to deliver and could not achieve as per their expectations. So, they are raising these questions,” Yadav said.
“I am meeting the Governor this evening. I don’t have any information about the report as of now, but I would definitely like to seek information as per the law,” he added.
According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Governor has sent a ” special report” to President Mukherjee on the recent violence in Mathura, the alleged exodus from Kairana and the Dadri lynching.
Reports further state that the copies of the report, which is based on the letters sent by the Chief Minister to the Governor and information received from the delegations of various political parties, have been marked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief, however, downplayed a poser on the RSS chalking out the BJP’s electoral strategy during its meeting in Kanpur.
A six-day meeting of ‘pracharaks’ of the RSS began in Kanpur today. The RSS is expected to discuss the upcoming assembly polls and the recent situation in Jammu and Kashmir where the BJP is in alliance with the PDP during the meeting. (ANI)
