Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Babasaheb Bheemrao Ambedkar on the occasion of his 125thBirth Anniversary. He garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at Tank Bund.
Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari and Mahmood Ali, Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy, Excise Minister T. Padma Rao Goud and MLA “Rasamayi” Balakishan and others offered their respects to Dr Ambedkar on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahmood Ali recalled that Dr Ambedkar was noted for striving for routing caste-based inequalities in the society. Ambedkar was also noted for creating an environment, which wiped out scars of discrimination of upper caste oppression and ensured equality and freedom to all in the country, irrespective of their caste and community, he added.
Home Minister Narsimha Reddy said the TRS government was committed to protect Dalits and women. The nation will witness rapid growth through the development of small States, he said. Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the State Government is aimed at Dalit welfare through offering three acres of land and implementing Kalyana Lakshmi scheme for marriage of poor girls.
