TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao, who arrived here for the first time after assuming office as Chief Minister today was accorded tumultuous reception in Karimnagar district.
Local women welcomed the CM with traditional “Bathukammas”. KCR was greeted by TRS leaders, cadre, Sikhs and locals. At Sikhwadi crossroads, Sikh community leaders felicitated the Chief Minister and presented him a sword. The Chief Minister was taken in a rally in the town.
However, the NSUI activists staged a protest against KCR on frequent power-cuts and demanded uninterrupted power supply to domestic and farming activity. When the situation was going out of control as TRS and NSUI activists resorted to push each other, the police intervened and took them into custody.
The Chief Minister laid a foundation stone for construction of a pylon on the Municipal Corporation office premises. He also participated in planting of saplings. Later KCR reviewed the district development at the Collectorate. (NSS)
