The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) explained to the MLAs on how to cast their vote at Jubilee Hall here on July 18 for the sake of Presidential election to be held on July 19 in the Assembly Committee Hall-I.
The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana were present and explained as to how to cast vote in the Presidential election. They gave sample ballot paper to the all Congress MLAs present. There were two candidates contesting in the Presidential election — UPA’s presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee and NDA’s presidential candidate was Purno Agitok Sangma. The Chief Minister and PCC Chief urged the Congress MLAs to give a first priority vote to the Pranab. The Pranab Mukherjee’s serial number is two, they said and added that the MLAs have not to give any preference vote to PA Sangma.
Seventeen members failed to attend the CLP meeting due to various reasons, the Chief Minister said after the meeting. (NSS)
