CLP to hold mock voting for prez election today

Government Whip E. Anil has said that Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting would be held on July 18 at Jubilee Hall at 11.30 am where “mock voting” for Presidential election would be conducted.

Speaking to the media at CLP office here on Tuesday along with AICC secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and MLC Radhakrishna, Anil said that all Congress legislators were informed of the CLP meeting and requested them to attend without fail.

Questioning TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu about the secrecy behind his announcement that his party would allocate 100 seats to the BCs in the 2014 general elections at this juncture, Anil asked the former not to deceive the BCs again as he had done before 2009 general elections. He recalled that Chandrababu had announced at a ‘BC Garjana’ before 2009 general elections that he would allot more seats to the BCs, but failed to do so. Expressing doubt that Chandrababu Naidu may deceive the BCs once again, he said that the TDP chief was habituated not to keep his word. He said that the BCs were getting due respect in the Congress and PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana was from BC community. He said that the people would believe Chandrababu if he earmarks either TDP Chief or Leader of Opposition post to the BCs.

KTR WARNED AGAINST FLAYING CM

Taking serious exception to Sircilla MLA and TRS leader K Taraka Ramarao’s dubbing Kiran Kumar Reddy as a ‘lottery Chief Minister’, Anil said that it was not proper for KTR, a first-time MLA, to criticize the Chief Minister, who was a fourth time MLA and had the experience of working as Speaker of Assembly. He also said that the Congress high command would pick up a capable person to the pivoted post generally and also the Congress was not a feudal party like TRS. He warned KTR that the Congress and the people would teach a fitting lesson to him if he failed to stop criticizing the Chief Minister again. He also advised KTR to behave like a politician and it would help him to continue in politics, otherwise he would face problems. (NSS)
