CLP hails union budget

Describing the Union Budget-2012 as poor people’s budget, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has said that even the main Opposition party BJP and economic analysts did not say it was anti-people budget.

Addressing the media at CLP office here on Saturday, along with MLCs Paladugu Venkata Rao and Rudraraju Padmaraju, School Education Minister Dr S Sailajanath said that the budget was suitable to all sections of people. He said that after a long time the Union government had given top priority to development of infrastructure in the budget. The budget will help develop the infrastructure in rural areas. He said that about Rs 25,000-crore budget was allocated for Right to Education scheme to develop schools. Through this budget, schools will get classrooms, toilets and recruitment of teachers would be possible, he said. He said that it was good that the Centre has decided money transfer system.

Paladugu Venkata Rao said that the Union government has introduced good budget. He said that the Centre gave priority to Agriculture, Defense, Education and Food Security in its budget-2012. He also urged the Centre to allocate Rs 30 lakh crores to 40 lakh crores as its budget if India wants to compete with the neighboring China.

Government Whip in Council Rudraraju Padmaraju has expressed happiness over the Union government for allotting Mega Handicrafts Centre to the State, which was possible with the good offices of Textiles Minister Panabaka Laxmi.

Thanking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Finance Minister Pranabh Mukherjee for enhancing the pension from Rs 200 to 300 to the widows and old age persons. (NSS)
