Hyderabad, September 07: The Congress Legislature Party(CLP) today claimed that 417 people had died in incidents of suicide and heart attack in the wake of the tragic death of then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash on September two.
However, the claim could not be confirmed by police.
When contacted, police were able to confirm only six incidents of suicide in Karimnagar district, three in Nalgonda district and two in East Godavari district. Police have not registered any case in respect of the deaths due to heart attack. According to reports compiled by the CLP based on what appeared in Telugu print and electronic media, while 52 people had committed suicide, 13 others had attempted suicide. As many as 365 people had died of heart attack, the CLP claimed.
