The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has asked YSRCP Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila to give an explanation to the people as to why her brother was resting in jail instead of witch hunting the State government.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Friday along with Government Whip E Anil and Alair MLA Bikshamaiah Goud, Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy asked Sharmila to name which scheme introduced by her father late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has been abandoned by the present government. Gandra said the government was implementing all the schemes introduced in 2004 and 2009 by then Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy.
Excoriating TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu for criticizing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Gandra said Chandrababu has no moral right to criticize the Chief Minister. There was a lot of difference between Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu, he added.
He reminded that Chandrababu Naidu had assured the people on the eve of elections that he would provide rice at Rs 2 per kilo, but forgot his promise and increased the price to Rs 5.50 per kilo after assuming office. Whereas Kiran Kumar Reddy Government was giving rice at Re. 1 a kg though the Congress did not make a promise during the elections, he added. He said the people would not believe Chandrababu Naidu even though he continues to assure ‘free’ schemes. He pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu failed to win the Cooperative Societies elections though he was assuring the people of several schemes. (NSS)
