CLP asks Jagan to go to court rather blaming Congress

The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) has advised YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to approach the courts against the CBI freezing his media accounts instead of alleging that the State government was wreaking vengeance against him.

Speaking to the media after the CLP executive meeting on Wednesday, Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy said that the ruling party was not behind the freezing of accounts of Jagan’s media, but the CBI was doing its duty as part of investigation ordered by the High Court. The Congress and the government have nothing to do with the CBI’s decision with regard to Jagan’s alleged ill-gotten wealth case, he added.

Warning former minister Dr P Shanker Rao that the party high command would initiate action against him if he continued to criticize Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy lowering the image of the party, Gandra appealed to the senior leaders not to speak against the government. (NSS)
