Andhra Pradesh government has ordered the excise officials to close down all belt (illicit arrack) shops.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has taken a tough stand on belt shops and instructed the excise office to immediately initiate action in closing down the belt shops. He also instructed the officials to submit a report on the closure of belt shops within a month’s time.
Opposition has consistently attacking the government on arrack shops and women organizations have been demanding the removal of belt shops since long. (INN)
