Clear air on loyalties: AP CM to MLAs toying with Jagan

Hyderabad, June 09: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked the party MLAs supporting YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy to clear air about their loyalties.

“We have to get rid of those who are like thieves in their own houses. Congress party will be strengthened if they go. There is no shortage of leaders and activists in our party,” Reddy said at Srikakulam.

“My appeal to those who want to leave is, please go. Those who have got positions due to Congress should either remain loyal to the party or go,” he said, addressing a party meeting in Srikakulam district today.

The blunt message of the Chief Minister came in the wake of about 20 party MLAs siding with Kadapa MP Jagan who had earlier said that the Reddy-led Congress government was at his mercy.

The Kadapa MP had also dared the main opposition TDP to move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government following which the TDP even served a notice to move a no-confidence motion. However, its move was sabotaged after the Governor prorogued the Budget session yesterday.

The state Assembly was convened on June 4 for election of Speaker and the Congress MLAs loyal to Jagan supported the Congress candidate failing which they would have lost their membership.

Ahead of the assembly session for Speaker”s election, about 20 Congress MLAs reportedly met Jagan.
