A student of class third was kidnapped in Ambedkarnagar district yesterday and a ransom of Rs 10 lakh was demanded for his release. A case was registered in this regard by the police and efforts were made to trace out the abductors and rescue the victim. Help of sleuths of Special Task Force (STF) was also sought by the local police in this regard. A police reports said Arun (8), a native of Sarai Jungle area of Ahirauli in Ambedkarnagar went to his school on Thursday morning. When he find that the school was closed due to rains he was returning home when some unknown youths kidnapped him. The family members when learnt of the incident informed the local police but they get a matter registered just as ‘Missing’. They also asked the parents to search the child on their own. The matter, however, took a turn today when Arun’s father Shiv Shankar received a call on his mobile. The caller without disclosing his name or other whereabouts just claimed that his son Arun was in his custody and if he wanted to see him alive than he should arrange Rs 10 lakh. The caller further said and he will made another call later to inform the place and time where they will collect the money and release the boy. After this call the family members again rushed and met senior officers who subsequently get the matter registered as abduction today. Two police teams were also formed to trace out the whereabouts of the victim and rescue him safely from the clutches of the accused. UNI
