Hyderabad, July 10: A class seven student died while his friend sustained critical injuries after their bike was hit by a seven-seater auto at Santoshnagar here on Friday night. The boys were going to meet their friends at a nearby masjid during the ‘jagne ki raath’.
The minors were driving to a friend’s place when the auto near Yadagiri theatre hit them.
M Fiaz and Salman, both aged 14, were going on a bike towards Chandrayanguta. Fiaz was driving the bike while Salman was pillion riding. Both fell on the road after they were hit by the auto and sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to a private hospital in Hyderguda where Fiaz was declared brought dead.
Santoshnagar police sub inspector T Sukhdev Singh said Salman is in a critical condition. “Both the kids were classmates at school,” he added.
A case of rash and negligent behaviour under Section 304A of IPC was booked against the auto driver.
