Class 8 girl attacked with acid in Gurdaspur dist

New Delhi: An 18-year-old boy allegedly attacked a Class 8 girl with acid when she was on her way back home from school on Wednesday afternoon here in Gurdaspur district.

The victim sustained injuries on her face, while four other girls accompanying her also sustained minor injuries.

The Dera Baba Nanak police have registered a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326A (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 354C (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The reason behind the attack was not immediately available, said police, adding that the accused was absconding. (ANI)
