One person was killed and nine others injured in a clash between two groups over a kabaddi match in Ganjam district, the police said today.
The rival groups used sharp weapons and bamboo sticks in the clash that took place at Chudangapur under Digapahandi police station last night.
The deceased was identified as Raghunath Patra (62).
The injured persons, including two women, were under treatment at a hospital in Digaphandi.
“We have deployed adequate police force in the village. The situation was under control,” said sub divisional
police officer (Chikiti) BN Dehuri.
No arrest has been made in this connection so far.
