CJ stresses need to fill vacant judge posts

Hyderabad High Court Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sen Gupta today observed that the nation was being hampered with inadequacy of Judges in the courts.
Participating in a program here on Tuesday, the Chief Justice stressed the need for filling all vacant judge and other posts in the courts across the nation. Compared to the existing number of population, the number of judges is far less, he clarified. Keeping the escalating number of cases in view, there is an urgent need for filling all the posts of judges, he asserted. He also made it clear that about 26 per cent of population is stepping into the courts for one case or other. The Chief Justice also exuded confidence that number of cases would come down once the vacancies are filled avoiding further delay. (NSS)
