Commissioner of Civil Supplies C Partha Sarathi reviewed the computerisation and implementation of supply chain management in Public Distribution System in the State with the Chief Rationing Officer, General Manager, Civil Supplies Corporation, District Manager, Civil Supplies Corporation, Hyderabad and the IT Unit of the Civil Supplies Department here on Wednesday.
The Commissioner informed the District Manager, Civil Supplies Corporation, Hyderabad that in addition to the implementation of Supply Chain Management in four circles of Hyderabad, it shall be implemented in the remaining five circles also from February, 2015. Once this is done, it will be extended to all other districts from March 2015 onwards.
The General Manager, CS Corporation informed that in all the 172 MLS points, the systems have been installed and action is being taken to provide connectivity through internet, power etc.
The Commissioner of Civil Supplies also made it very clear that the Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd. should verify whether hardware in all the 172 Mandal level stockist points is installed. GM should also ensure that cubicles are provided wherever required, power connections obtained and connectivity established on priority basis. He instructed that for connectivity through internet and obtaining power connection, the District Managers should organize this in consultation with the Joint Collectors concerned.
He also instructed the Chief Rationing Officer to evaluate the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and give a report to the Government urgently for taking a decision on its implementation.
All the participants have assured to attend to this work immediately and comply with the directions given. GM, CS Corporation mentioned that the connectivity through internet from MLS points will be established by using the good offices of the Joint Collectors.
The Commissioner reiterated that all the above items should be attended on priority as the supply chain management is part of the end to end computerisation which the Government of India has commended to State Governments based on the Supreme Court’s direction. (INN)
