New Delhi [India]: Ministry of Human Resource Development is set to organize the Smart India Hackathon 2017 where the Ministry of Civil Aviation will also actively participate.
The aim of the initiative to harness the creativity and technical expertise of young minds studying in technology institutes to think out of the box and come up with innovative and disruptive tech solutions for some of the daunting problems faced by the country.
R.N, Choubey, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation told ANI that the ministry of human resource development in Government of India has taken an excellent initiative called Hackathon 2017.
The civil aviation industry is on a high growth trajectory. India is poised to become the third-largest aviation market by 2030.
“The Hackathon 2017 is to engage the young and vibrant minds for problem solving and for various parts of the government functioning. In the case of minister of civil aviation we have identified 43 issues that we call it problem statements and these 43 problem statements will be made available to group of young people who will be constituted into 50 teams,” he said.
“We expect each problem statement will be given to about two teams so that there is some competition between the teams for giving the best possible solutions,” Choubey added.
Secretary MOCA said group of 300 people who are good in Information Technology would be induced Allahabad in end of January and beginning of February.
“When a passenger flies using our aircraft, he must get a seamless experience from the time he enters the airport building at the place of departure till the time he leaves the airport building at his destination. During this time he meets many people. Mission is how to make pleasant air experience for a passenger right through in a seamless manner,” he said.
MOCA is also looking significant improvement in the operational efficiency for various civil aviation related activities for example airline operations, airport operations, ground handling.
“Many passengers have disjoined experiences. This is primarily because different departments,” Choubey said.
Main focus area that the problem of civil aviation that need innovative solutions are grouped under enhancing customer service, creating a friendly airport experience, making skies safer, making the most of the passenger feedback and an all compassing passenger focused approach.
There is a provision for prizes as token of appreciation that is for first, second and third is 1 lakh rupees, 75,000 rupees and 50,000 rupees respectively.
Certification of participation would also be provided for taking part in Hackathon.
‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ is a pan India 36 hour nonstop digital programming competition. The participating teams will simultaneously compete from across 33 locations in India to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time challenges faced by the nation. (ANI)
