Elections for Greater Warangal Corporation, Khammam Municipality and Atchampet municipality held in peaceful manner. While Atchampet municipality recorded a major voting percentage of 72, Warangal managed to get 56 percentage votes polled and Khammam registered 67 percentage of votes till the last hour of polling process. The voters who stood in the queue lines by 5 pm were allowed to exercise their franchise and almost the polling went off peacefully without any incident. While the results will be announced on Mar 9, Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Warangal and Khammam corporations and also Chairman and Deputy Chairman for Atchampet civic body will be elected on Mar 15. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari along with his family members cast votes at Bank Colony in Warangal and Roads and Buildings minister cast his vote at Golla Gudem in Khammam on Sunday. MLAs Challa Dharma Reddy and Vinay Bhaskar also cast votes with their family members in Warangal. (NSS)
