Vijayawada, January 12: A woman from Hyderabad was reportedly murdered in the Abhiram Hotel here. Her body was found on Wednesday.
The police said that Raju, who came with the deceased and took the hotel room, was missing. The duo had taken a room in the hotel on January 10, saying that they were wife and husband. Her name was written in the hotel register as Lucy. Though they said they came from Hyderabad, they have not written their full address in the hotel register.
The hotel staff found the room locked in the morning. When foul smell was emanating from the room, the hotel management informed the police, who rushed to the hotel and broke open the room and found the woman dead hanging to a rope tied to the ceiling.
Police suspect that it was a cold-blooded murder and the killer has tried to make it look like suicide. Raju was missing. Police, who have registered a case, launched a manhunt for Raju.
