Regional Passport Office here has created a national record by issuing 84,752 passports in one month (August 2014). The Passport office conducted a clearance drive on a call from the Joint Secretary and Chief Passport officer, Muktesh Kumar Pardeshi.
The staff worked in two shifts, including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays to clear the pending applications which were accumulated due to shortage of booklets at ISP Nasik.
The Passport office, on receipt of regular supply of booklets from ISP Nasik, undertook the pendency clearance drive and succeeded in printing 83,196 passport booklets and dispatched 84,752 booklets in August despite many holidays, thereby bettering their own record of 65700 plus booklets in March this year during Dr Srikar Reddy’s tenure.
Passport officer Ashwini Sattaru congratulated the entire passport processing team led by Dr Sirish, Incharge, Passport Processing section, for their commitment and for putting in extra hours on week days and working on holidays, she said dedication and team work was the secret to success and this team created a national record which is hard to be broken.
