In his show-cause notice, the DCP stated BJP legislator Raja Singh held a press meet on September 24 at his office at Goshamahal constituency and made a public appeal to the Dandiya program organizers not to allow non-Hindus to participate in Dandiya programs in view of the Navarathi festivities in the city.
“This statement attracts a penal provision under the IPC and security proceedings under CrPC”, the DCP said and asked Raja Singh why action should not be initiated against him for his objectionable statement. In case no explanation is received within two days, appropriate action will be initiated against you ( Raja Singh) as per law, the DCP stated. (NSS)
