City police not happy with CAB response on security

Kolkata, December 23: Less than 24 hours before the fourth ODI between India and Sri Lanka here tomorrow, the city police today expressed unhappiness with the way Cricket Association of Bengal has responded to their efforts to put in place a foolproof security arrangement for the match.

City Police Commissioner Goutam Mohan Chakraborty said the CAB’s response in his efforts to plug the loopholes in the security arrangements had put the police in an “uncomfortable” situation.

“The CAB has not able to arrange many things what we had told them. We are in a little uncomfortable situation now. We have to strengthen our arrangements now to plug the loopholes to ensure the security is foolproof,” Chakraborty said after a long meeting with CAB chief Jagmohan Dalmiya at the Eden today.

Asked what laxities he found out, Chakraborty, however, refused to give details.
