The Central Crime Station of Hyderabad City Police has issued an FIR against Mohammad Faisal Ali Shah, the suspended Mutawalli of Dargah Yousufain, on the charges of financial irregularities.
The FIR has been issued based on a complaint lodged by the Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board. The FIR has been issued under the Sections 406, 403 and 420 of Indian Penal Code and and Sections 61 (2)(A)(1) and Sections 101 of Central Wakf Act, 1995.
The Wakf Board on March 1 had suspended Faisal Ali Shah on the charges of misappropriation of Dargah funds and non-payment of Wakf fund. Besides his temporary suspension, the Hyderabad District Collector has been asked to stop payment of Rs 50 lakh grant sanctioned by the government for the maintainance of Dargah at Nampally till the completion of enquiry.
