City police held Woman for Online Fraud

HYDERABAD: The Central Crime police of Hyderabad on Saturday arrested a 42-year-old housewife from Madhya Pradesh for online fraud.

According to police Ispita Jain, 42, wife of Darshan Kumar Jain resident of Krishana Nagar, of Umaria in Madhya Pradesh use to cheat customers by posting false ads on online marketing site Olx.com on the pretext of sale of high-end cameras and phones.

The accused duped eight persons including three city-based persons while collecting money.
The accused had posted several advertisements on Olx.com offering high end Canon Cameras and iPhones for cheaper rates.

The accused made the customers believe that she would send the items through courier and lured them to deposit 50 per cent of the cost of the product in her bank account. The victims deposited amounts ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 75,000 in her bank account.

After receiving the amounts, she simply switched off her mobile phone. So far, she has cheated eight persons including three persons from Hyderabad. Police seized two mobile phone along with four SIM cards from her, and register a case for deceiving people.
