City Police being influenced by MIM, alleges BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday alleged that the Hyderabad City Police was functioning under the influence of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. Addressing a press conference at the State BJP office, State President G Kishan Reddy alleged that the MIM leaders were responsible for disturbing the peace and communal harmony in the city. He alleged that the MIM leaders twisted the issue of renovation works of Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Charminar while projecting the same as temple’s expansion. He also alleged that the MIM was deliberately trying to hurt the sentiments of Hindu community. The BJP leader also accused the City Police of not permitting the devotees to conduct Festival of Goddess Bhagyalakshmi at the temple. While furnishing the copies of High Court judgment, he said that the court did not impose any restrictions on celebrations at the temple and it only ordered status quo on the structure. In protest against the police objection, he said that the BJP would conduct a protest rally from Bagh Lingampally to
Indira Park on Saturday.
Kishan Reddy also criticised the City Police for allowing the MIM workers to gather near Charminar despite the imposition of Section 144 in the Old City. He accused the MIM of tyring to disturb the law and order situation in the to blackmail the State Government.
The BJP leader also condemned the MIM leaders’ attempts to take control of Mahavir Hospital properties. He said that the hospital, being run by Jain Community members, was doing public service for the last several years. Therefore, he demanded that the government should not handover the properties to MIM leaders for commercial purposes.
Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreyya and former MLA Baddam Bal Reddy were also present in the press conference.
