City magician selected to break four records

Hyderabad, January 19: Mr Maganti Uday Bhaskar, a Magician and a resident of Hyderabad City, had had successful audition for Guinness Book of World Records, Ab India Todenga, held under the aegis of the Miditech Private Limited on January 12 at Mumbai. Now he was selected to break world record.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Mr Bhaskar said that as of now, the world record in fire blowing or fire breathing was 6.2 meters, held by a Spanish national, and noted that a Chinese national came closer with 5.9 meters. He also said that now he was aiming to reach at least 10 meters.

Mr Bhaskar said that he had developed interest in magic when he was in school, and over the last 27 years he had showcased his skills in magic, mimicry, fire dance, anchoring, fire escapism. “Beginning it for the sake of livelihood in the initial stage, now I am able to create new world records”, he added.

Stating that as of now he was practicing at his apartments, Mr Bhaskar requested to provide him with a studio, if it was available since he has to practice his act regularly in a studio in order to better his performance to qualify to participate in the show.

When asked about the awards that he won, he said he got the “All round Entertainer” from the Creative Cultural Circle and the “Indrazal Ratna” from the State Magic Academy, besides the laurels from the Chandramukhi Arts, Muvva Arts and Navratna Arts.

Mr Nagesh from the Navras Arts Academy said that Mr Bhaskar got the citizenship of Oklahama State of the US in recognition of his achievements, and noted that he was the first artist to have been chosen for such honour. Mr Sridhar of Muvva Arts, Mr Marri Ramesh of State Magic Academy and Mr Chandramukhi Chandra Sekhar, also present.
