City gets more garbage dumper bins

Hyderabad, January 4: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Monday received the first lot of 225 garbage ‘dumper’ bins, out of the 289 ordered.

Each dumper bin has cost the GHMC Rs 27,200, totalling Rs 61.2 lakhs. The remaining 64 bins are expected to be delivered shortly.

Talking to media persons after inspecting the newly received bins at the NTR Stadium, Indira Park, Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy appealed to the people to utilise these bins and keep the city clean. She added that, apart from the GHMC, it was also the responsibility of the citizens to keep the city clean and green.

The Mayor revealed that 60 bins will be allocated to the East Zone, 68 to the South Zone, 38 for the Central Zone, 98 for the West Zone while the North Zone will get 25 dumper bins.

Deputy Mayor Jaffar Hussain, Congress Floor Leader Kaleru Venkatesh, BJP Floor Leader Bangari Prakash and others accompanied Ms Karthika Reddy.
