City geared up to tackle terror: Khan

Hyderabad, February 01: City Police Commissioner A K Khan said the intelligence network has to be strengthened to track activities of terror elements in the city.

He, however, stressed that the city was prepared to deal with any kind of terror strike.

Speaking to reporters today, Khan said the city police would work in coordination counterparts in other cities and districts and also with the central intelligence agencies. “With the anti-terror wing, Octopus, already in place, and the regional hub of National Security Guards coming to the city, we are prepared to deal with terrorism,’’ Khan said.

The Centre had extended funds under Mega City Policing, and the city police would be getting sophisticated police stations, modern gadgets, weapons, vehicles and surveillance system, Khan added.
