Hyderabad, May 13: Habeeb Nagar police today arrested city based poet Salahuddin Nayyar on the basis of non-bailable warrant issued by Delhi metropolitan court.
Inspector Habeeb Nagar Mr. Ram Chandra Reddy told that the Delhi Metropolitan magistrate Mr. Naveen Arura had issued a non-bailable warrant against Salahuddin Nayyar as he was consistently absent in a defamation case and no advocate was defending his case.
Column writer Padma Shri Mujtaba Hussain was said to have slapped defamation suit against Salahuddin Nayyar in Delhi Metropolitan court as the later has been consistently publishing articles based on offensive remarks in his magazine ‘Khusbu ka safar’.
Police told that Salahuddin Nayyar will be detained in police station for a night and will be produced before Delhi metropolitan court after obtaining transit warrant from Nampally criminal court the next morning.
