Hyderabad: Telangana Auto Driver Unions’ JAC has decided to stage a dharna on February 5 at Indira Park against the separate Police Auto Registration and demanding that the State government settle Auto drivers’ long-pending issues.
The other demands include immediate arrest of the OLA and UBER managements for fixing their cab rates on their own illegally and running a parallel government; a total ban on the diesel-run cabs on the city roads which were causing pollution and playing with the health of the citizens, immediate arrest of private auto financiers for selling new autos in the black market i.e Rs 2.8 which is Rs 1.10 lakh more than actual show-room price and immediate fixation of Auto fairs on par with the neighboring States.
Addressing media persons here today, JAC leader Mohd Amanullah Khan alleged that the Traffic police were collecting Rs 225 from auto drivers towards separate police auto registration though the project was not approved by the government and as such the police return the amounts collected so far from thousands of auto drivers and owners and stop further collection. Khan also appealed to the auto drivers in the twin cities to boycott the separate police auto registration process. He said if the police book cases for not registering their autos, we will challenge the police action in the High Court.
JAC leaders Venkatesam, V. Kiran, M.A Saleem, Mirza Rafathullah Baig, A. Satti Reddy, Mohd Azeemuddin, Farooq Bhai and Mohd Latif were present.
