Riyadh, October 25: A Saudi opposition activist says a Youtube post of an Al Saud family member beating a man on the street reveals the ugly truth about the royal family.
“The abuse and mistreatment committed by the Saudi princes, who amount to more than 20 thousand people, has reached the point that they beat people in the street,” Fouad Ibrahim, Saudi activist based in London told Al Alam on Saturday.
An October 23rd post on the video sharing website Youtube shows an unnamed Saudi Prince beating a man in one of the streets of the capital Riyadh.
The video titled “Saudi prince assault on a Saudi citizen in street” has been removed from the site due to what is described as “terms of use violation.”
Witnesses at the scene say the prince intended to film the incident in order to boast about it to his fellow family members.
“He wanted to show them that he can insult and attack others without fearing any higher authority,” one witness said.
Ibrahim added that most Saudi princes believe that it “is the ends that justifies the means.”
“They believe that they should safeguard their interests by any means possible, even if this means trampling on the rights of others,” he said.
