CISF unfurls tricolour at quake-hit complex in Haiti

New Delhi, January 26: As the country celebrated its 60th Republic Day with much fanfare, 141 CISF personnel posted in quake-hit Haiti unfurled the national flag in a sombre manner with a pledge to help resurrect the Caribbean nation from the massive earthquake earlier this month.

The personnel, part of the UN peacekeeping mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) hoisted the tricolour at their complex — rocked by the January 12 earthquake bringing damages to the structure– and sung the national anthem.

The unit commander then addressed the men in a ‘sainik sammelan’ and the activity was completed with a solemn pledge to help the locals and bring the nation back to normalcy.
