CISF trooper kills self at Metro station

New Delhi, April 26: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) trooper Tuesday shot himself dead with his service revolver at the Jahangirpuri Metro station, leading to its closure for half-an-hour, an officer said.

A.K. Tiwari, in his 40s, who hailed from Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh, shot himself with his 9 mm service revolver early Tuesday.

“His body was found by his colleague Litu Sethi at Jahangirpuri Metro station at around 5.20 a.m. when he came to check on him early in the morning. They were both deputed at the Jahangirpuri station,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Iqbal Mohammad told IANS.

The police could not confirm the time of suicide. However, Mohammad said that Sethi was with Tiwari till 2 a.m. and after that the former went upstairs where he was deputed.

According to Sethi, Tiwari was keeping quiet for sometime, said the officer.

He was posted to the national capital from Jammu and Kashmir a month ago. His relatives have been informed.
